Abel Garcia

Owner

Abel fell in love with horses at 3 months old when his father started carrying him in the saddle. It wasn’t long until Abel was riding on his own at the age of 3. He first started competing in roping events around the state of Illinois at the age of 12. He’s taken first prize in numerous competitions for calf roping, bronc roping, and trick roping internationally in the US and Mexico, including multiple Illinois state championships. Notably he received 1st place in the regional championship Regional del Estado de Mexico for calf roping and bronc roping. He was honored to give a trick roping presentation to Vicente Fernandez and Antonio Aguilar at the Rosemont Allstate Arena.

Abel holds a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Veracruz and completed an Externship at Oklahoma State University in Veterinary Medicine. He worked in the field for 20 years before pursuing his lifelong dream of opening Stargazer Ranch.

Abel currently rides Mago who was trained by Gustavo Rivera of Rivera Ranch in Jalisco, Mexico.

In addition to delivering the best boarding and training experience in the Chicago area, Abel dreams of owning a foundation quarter horse breeding ranch.
